Woman Injured After Car Slams Into Mail Truck In Pawling

PAWLING, N.Y. -- A motorist was trapped inside his car and injured when he ran into the back of a U.S. Postal Service truck on Route 22 in Pawling, according to the New York State police.

Jordan M. Iovino, 25, of Kent, Conn., was traveling north on Route 22 on Monday, Nov. 7, when she ran into the back of the truck that was stopped to make a left turn onto Hurds Corner Road. The impact sent Iovino's car into a tree on the northbound shoulder of the road, state police said.

Pawling Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported Iovino to Danbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, state police said.

The USPS driver, Michael Renzo, age 49, of Hyde Park, was not injured and declined any medical treatment, state police said.
