New York State Police troopers stopped 44-year-old Poughkeepsie resident Robert Blossom on Tuesday for a vehicle and traffic violation. During the subsequent stop, it was reported that troopers detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Police said that further investigation determined that Blossom and his passenger, 27-year-old Pennsylvania resident Kiswana Wright were in possession of 2.5 grams of crack-cocaine, a scale with cocaine residue on it and nearly four grams of marijuana.

The two were arrested and charged with a felony count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. They were also cited for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Following arraignment, each was remanded to the Dutchess County jail in lieu of bail. They are due back in the Town of LaGrange Justice Court later this year to answer the charges.
