Democratic Primaries Top Dutchess Election Results

Democrats went to the polls in Dutchess on Tuesday, voting for county legislator and for council seats in Beacon and Poughkeepsie.

In the District 9 County Legislator Democratic primary, Randy Johnson defeated incumbent Kari Reiser, 55 percent to 45 percent, according to unofficial results from the Dutchess County Board of Elections.

In the District 16 County Legislator Democratic primary, Frits Zernike defeated Ved Shravaha 69 percent to 31 percent, according to unofficial results from the Dutchess County Board of Elections.

In the District 10 County Legislator Democratic primary, Legislator Barbara Jeter-Jackson defeated Warren Jones 75 percent to 25 percent, according to unofficial results from the Dutchess County Board of Elections.

In the Beacon Councilman-at-Large Democratic primary, George Mansfield and Lee Kyriacou defeated Ali Muhammad, according to unofficial results from the Dutchess County Board of Elections. Mansfield had 39 percent, Kyriacou had 37 percent and Muhammad had 24 percent.

In the Poughkeepsie Councilmember Ward 8 Democratic primary, Councilman Matthew McNamara defeated Josh Simons 60 percent to 40 percent, according to unofficial results from the Dutchess County Board of Elections.

In the Poughkeepsie Councilmember Ward 7 Democratic primary, Cr Randall Johnson II defeated Jason Baker 64 percent to 36 percent, according to unofficial results from the Dutchess County Board of Elections.

In the Poughkeepsie Councilmember Ward 3 Democratic primary, Legislator Lorraine Johnson defeated Nathaniel Almeida 55 percent to 45 percent, according to unofficial results from the Dutchess County Board of Elections

In the Poughkeepsie Councilmember At-Large Democratic primary, Ann Finney defeated incumbent Mike Young 52 percent to 48 percent, according to unofficial results from the Dutchess County Board of Elections.

In the Wappinger Ward 2 Town Board Republican primary, Trustee William Ciccarelli defeated Angelina Bettini 53 percent to 47 percent, according to unofficial results from the Dutchess County Board of Elections.
