DOVER PLAINS, N.Y. -- Linda French is the likely winner in the open race for Dover town Supervisor, defeating opponent Theodore Jensen, according to unofficial results from the Dutchess County Board of Elections that were released on Tuesday.

French received 646 votes, while Jensen received 502, the results show. The two ran to succeed incumbent Ryan Courtien.

Meanwhile, incumbent Councilman Richard Yeno has won re-election, while candidate Jane Meunier-Gorman leads fellow newcomer Joy Godin. Unofficial results show that Yeno received 848, Meunier-Gorman garnered 603 and Godin got 589. The margin between the latter two candidates is small, coming in at just 14 votes.

In the race for Highway Superintendent, incumbent Joanne Graham cruised to re-election over challenger Frank Perpepaj, with unofficial votes showing her getting 793 votes to 373 for her opponent.

Three incumbents for other town offices, however, were re-elected after running unopposed. Unofficial results show that Town Clerk Kathryn Palmer-House received 992 votes, Town Justice John Fusco got 807 and Tax Collector Dina Marie Yeno earned 952.
