DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- State Assemblyman Kieran Michael Lalor easily won his re-election bid for the 105th District, according to unofficial results from the New York State Board of Elections.

The results show Lalor with 30,687 votes (55.97 percent) against challenger Joseph Torres, who received 18,390 votes (33.54 percent).

A relatively large number of ballots, 5,711 (10.42 percent) were left blank. Twenty-seven write-in votes were cast, while 10 were declared to be void.

Returns for all 100 corresponding election districts have come in.

Lalor ran on the Republican, Conservative, Independence and Reform Party ballot lines. Torres ran on the Democratic, Working Families and Women's Equality Party ballot lines.

The 105th District covers much of southern and central Dutchess County.
