Congressmen Sean Patrick Maloney (D-Cold Spring) and John Faso (R-Kinderhook) will focus on how Washington politics affect the Hudson Valley when they sit down together for a Pattern For Progress "Across The Aisle" discussion April 21 at 9 a.m. at  The Cabaret in Marist College's Student Center in Poughkeepsie.

"Across The Aisle," now in its fifth year, is a bipartisan discussion that shows the inner workings of Congress and provides insights on the most pressing issues -- including how Maloney and Faso are navigating this new world on behalf of the Hudson Valley.

Faso, a Republican in his first two-year term, represents the 19th Congressional District. Maloney, a Democrat serving his third term, was first elected in the 18th District in 2012.

"Representatives Faso and Maloney are dealing with historic change," Pattern For Progress President and CEO Jonathan Drapkin, who will moderate the discussion, said, "and the context they provide will help the audience understand the short- and long-range impact on their lives."

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Marist is at 3399 North Road.

Tickets are $35 for Pattern for Progress members and $50 for non-members. Call 845-565-4900 or email rdegroat@pfprogress.org to make a reservation or to become a sponsor. To reserve tickets online, visit PatternForProgress.org.

Questions may be emailed to sshinske@pfprogress.org. The audience also can pose questions at the breakfast and via Facebook and Twitter.
