Former FBI Director Robert Mueller, the special counsel overseeing the probe of Russia’s role in the 2016 presidential election, is expected to interview two current White House senior officials as soon as this week regarding the possible obstruction of justice, the report said.

Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and Mike Rogers, head of the National Security Agency, may have been asked by Trump to halt an investigate that centered on fired National Security Advisor Michael Flynn's ties to Russia. Westchester native James Comey, whom Trump fired as FBI director last month, testified to the Senate Intelligence Committee that Trump had asked him to "let it go," regarding the Flynn investigation.

A spokesman for Trump's personal attorney, former Westchester resident Marc Kasowitz, lashed out at The Washington Post report, but did not speak to its accuracy, saying, “The FBI leak of information regarding the president is outrageous, inexcusable and illegal."
