UNION VALE, N.Y. -- Seven votes separate the two candidates for Union Vale's Town supervisor position, with 66 absentee ballots yet to be counted, according to a story on Poughkeepsiejournal.com.
Challenger Patricia Tompkins, 49, received 586 votes during Tuesday's election, and incumbent Lisette Hitsman, 81, received 579, in unofficial results, poughkeepsiejournal.com said.
Incumbent Town Clerk Mary Lou DeForest, 81, won her race for reelection over Margaret Thompson, 51, receiving another two-year term with an annual salary of $43,800, poughkeepsiejournal.com said.
In the Tax Collector race, Edna Bonk, 79, was the victor over Kathleen Dunham, 54. The two-year term for the positions earns an annual salary of $7,116, poughkeepsiejournal.com said.
