More than 170 folks walked, listened to music and speeches, and enjoyed snacks during the three-hour event Saturday, the school said.
Isabella Buccellati, a member of the class of 2016, said there were hours and hours of “behind-the-scenes work” that went into planning the annual "Relay for Life," according to the school’s website.
“It’s always rewarding to see everyone come together for the cause,” she was quoted as saying.
More than 50 waffles were served at the event’s waffle station, but it was not all fun and games.
The mood turned somber later in the evening as participants remembers lost loved ones and shared stories about their experiences with cancer, the school’s website said.
