PINE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Pine Plains Schools Superintendent Martin Handler will be getting a close to a $10,000 increase in his benefits package, according to a report by The Poughkeepsie Journal.

The Board of Education, which praised the superintendent for his financial acumen and leadership, voted recently to bring his benefits package up to snuff with other educational execs in Dutchess County, The Poughkeepsie Journal reported.

In 2015, Handler was among the lowest paid superintendents in 16 local districts, and his benefits reflected that, The Poughkeepsie Journal article said.
