PAWLING, N.Y. -- Each year the sophomore class at Trinity-Pawling School raises funds to donate a tree to the Trinity-Pawling Arboretum.
This project provides an opportunity for the sophomores to learn leadership skills and to give back to the school. Nate Tanner, Joe Webber, Mike Nastasi, Will DePalma, Ben Hanrahan, Brenden Lundy and Abdallah Bekhiet served as the student leaders.
They designed a T-shirt and organized a raffle as part of their initiative. This morning, they held a dedication ceremony which was attended by the entire sophomore class, as well as faculty advisors, and Headmaster Bill Taylor.
"This has been a great opportunity for myself and the rest of the sophomore class to work together to strengthen skills such as leadership and teamwork, as well as giving us a chance to give back to our community," Tanner said, speaking on behalf of the sophomore class.
