Dutchess' Tyler Lydon Helps Syracuse Advance To NCAA Final Four

Pine Plains native and freshman Syracuse University basketball player Tyler Lydon didn't need his shoes to get the job done.

The Stissing Mountain High School graduate's 3-point shot without one shoe helped launch a comeback in Syracuse's 68-62 win over Virginia on Sunday in the NCAA Midwest Regional final, sending Syracuse to the NCAA's Final Four.

Lydon, whose mother played basketball for Dutchess Community College, finished with 11 points, making three of five 3-point shots. He was also credited with six rebounds and five blocked Virginia shots.
