PINE PLAINS, N.Y. – The 19th annual Mashomack International Polo Challenge is set for Saturday at the Mashomack Polo Club, a private polo and shooting club at 7435 Rt. 82.
The event is to benefit the Pine Plains Fire Hose & Rescue Company, Ronald McDonald House and the New York State Trooper Foundation, according to organizers.
The challenge is to begin with a champagne reception at noon. A luncheon and the polo match are to follow at 1 p.m. An awards ceremony is to follow at 3 p.m. A silent auction is scheduled between noon and 3:30 p.m.
In the past, teams representing the United States, Great Britain, India, Brazil, France and Italy have played in the challenge. This year, Team Germany is to make its first appearance.
Ticket options for the event include the Field Side Tickets & Tables ($300–$3,000), Club Side Tickets ($175–$1,750), Junior Tickets ($90), Children’s Tickets ($50), and Patron’s High Goal Table of Ten ($5,000). Tickets can be purchased here .
According to organizers, more than 1,000 people are to attend the “elegant … kickoff to the summer social season.”
