PINE PLAINS, N. Y. -- Pine Plains native Tyler Lydon can count on the support of his friends and family back home as the freshman Syracuse basketball player heads with his team into the NCAA Final Four game Saturday in Houston.
According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, Lydon's family has been with him every step of the way, and he's enjoying dozens of calls and text messages from those back home, including his coaches from Pine Plains. In 2013, as a junior, Lydon helped bring his Stissing Mountain High School team to the New York State Class C finals.
Most recently, Lydon is credited with helping Syracuse, a 10th seed in the national tournament, make a stunning comeback victory against top-seeded Virginia on Sunday, March 27.
Lydon's family says this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the hoops player, the Poughkeepsie Journal says.
