According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, Lydon's family has been with him every step of the way, and he's enjoying dozens of calls and text messages from those back home, including his coaches from Pine Plains. In 2013, as a junior, Lydon helped bring his Stissing Mountain High School team to the New York State Class C finals.

Most recently, Lydon is credited with helping Syracuse, a 10th seed in the national tournament, make a stunning comeback victory against top-seeded Virginia on Sunday, March 27.

Lydon's family says this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the hoops player, the Poughkeepsie Journal says.
