Upcoming Date Reminders Issued For New York's Hunting Season

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- This hunting season is expected see more than 800,000 hunters, who create millions of dollars in revenue for New York State, according to lohudblogs.com .

The following are important upcoming dates listed on the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation website :

Bowhunting season: began on Sept. 27 in northern New York and will begin on Oct. 1 for the rest of the state.

Turkey season: Northern New York begins Oct. 1 and Northern New York begins Oct. 25.

Coyote season: begins on Oct. 1 for the entire state.

Bear season: early bowhunting in Southern New York begins on Oct. 1.

Bobcat season: begins on Oct. 25 for parts of the state.

Trapping: begins on Oct. 25.

Turkey season: Northern New York begins Oct. 1 and Northern New York begins Oct. 25.
