Since beginning work to replace the bridge in June, crews have been busy replacing Bridge M-7 on Academy Hill Road, which is located over the Roeliff Jansen Kill. Officials said the the bridge is in need of replacement due to structural deficiencies.

Academy Hill Road has been closed since June 22, and will remain closed during the duration of the project, which is expected to extend through the fall. It’s been estimated by officials that Bridge M-7 is driven on by more than 100 motorists daily.

Motorists have been advised by the DPW to “plan for additional time and to exercise extra caution on the detour route, obey the posted speed limits, traffic advisory signs and the directions from flaggers in the work zone to ensure the safety of workers and other motorists.”
