In July of 2015, Strauch opened her own office at 4 Liberty St. in Poughkeepsie. She continues to offer clients expertise on real estate law, family issues and a unique specialty area in equine issues, which mirrors her passion for that activity.

Strauch also sought to become deeply involved in the region’s legal community. She is Vice President of the Mid-Hudson Women’s Bar Association and a member of the Women’s Bar Association of New York, Dutchess County Bar Association and Westchester County Bar Association. She serves clients in Dutchess, Ulster, Rockland, Westchester, Putnam and Orange counties.

“It’s an interesting time to be a lawyer,’’ Strauch said. “There’s a lot going on and I thought this was a great time to start my own business.”

Strauch represents clients in real estate sale and purchase transactions, as well as in litigation of landlord/tenant matters, partition accounts and negotiation of buyouts in property settlements. With respect to family law, Strauch assists clients in resolving divorce litigation, custody disputes, separation agreements and prenuptial agreements.

Strauch, who has been riding horses since she was a young girl, still competes in Hunter Jumper horse shows at equestrian events on the East coast. Strauch attended North Salem Central schools and was President of her equestrian team at Franklin and Marshall College.

“I’ve been able to extend my equestrian passion into the professional field,’’ Strauch said. “People are always looking for legal advice regarding lease/consignment agreements with respect to their horses. There are several contract issues that may need to be solved for people who own horses in this day and age.”

While attending law school, Strauch served as intern for the Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center. She also served as a judicial extern in the Delaware Court of Common Pleas and the Pennsylvania Criminal Defense Law Clinic.
