Nancy Sokolowski-Kolb, Longtime Nurse In Norwalk
NORWALK, Conn. -- Nancy Sokolowski-Kolb, wife of Todd Kolb, of Ridgefield, died Saturday, Oct. 3. Born in Providence, R.I., in 1937, she and her family moved to Norwalk in the early 1960s.
Her 50-year career as a nurse included more than 30 years at Norwalk Hospital in various areas of specialization, including surgery, private duty and hemodialysis. In mid-career, she chose to specialize in what became her lifelong crusade -- to help women diagnosed with breast cancer. She became an advocate in the campaign for education, early detection, treatment and the search for a cure. She co-founded…
Margareta B. Nylund, 74, of Wyckoff
WYCKOFF, N.J. -- Margareta B. Nylund, of Wyckoff, died Sunday, Sept. 27. She was 74. Born in Narpes, Finland, she immigrated to the United States in 1961. She lived in Ridgewood and Saddle River before moving to Wyckoff.
She and her husband were the owners of Nylund Construction in Wyckoff for 25 years. She was a member of the Advent Lutheran Church.
Her husband, Fjalar S. Nylund, died in 2006.

Bruna P. Montone, 88, of Ridgefield
RIDGEFIELD, N.J. -- Bruna P. (Missaggia) Montone, 88, a longtime resident of Ridgefield, died Tuesday, Sept. 29. Born in North Bergen and raised in Union City, she was a graduate of Emerson High School in Union City.
Montone was a member of the Ridgefield Seniors. An avid movie fan, she also enjoyed decorating, drawing and shopping.
Before retiring, she was an administrative assistant with Scholastic magazine in Englewood Cliffs for 15 years.

John J. Corbett Sr., 87, of Fair Lawn
FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- John J. “Jack” Corbett Sr., 87, of Fair Lawn, died Tuesday, Sept. 29.Born and raised in Paterson, he resided in Fair Lawn for more than 50 years. An Army veteran, he served during the Korean War.
Corbett was a parishioner of St. Catharine Roman Catholic Church in Glen Rock. He was a loyal Mets and Jets fan. Before retiring, he was a night crew manager with ShopRite in Lincoln Park for 15 years and previously was employed with Pathmark. He also served as a crossing guard in Fair Lawn.
