New Survey Reveals What Diners Say About Kids, Dogs In Restaurants
Diners are showing more interest in adults-only and dog-friendly restaurants, according to a new study.
Younger consumers are also driving demand for protein-packed menus, health-focused ingredients, and family-style meals, Lightspeed Commerce said in its State of Hospitality 2026 report. The survey included people in the US, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

A New Jersey woman is suing a town and its police department, claiming officials released unredacted video last year showing her exposed breast while she was in police custody, leading to the footage being viewed hundreds of thousands of times online (lawsuit attached at the bottom of this news article).

2 Hospitalized After Minivan Overturns On Route 9 In Old Saybrook; Police Asking For Witnesses
Two people were seriously injured after they were involved in a rollover crash along Route 9.
The single-vehicle crash happened around 6:55 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, in the southbound lanes near Exit 2 in Old Saybrook, according to Connecticut State Police.
Police said a 2003 Honda Odyssey EXL veered off the right side of the highway. The minivan entered an embankment, struck the tree line, and rolled onto its roof.
