Newly Minted Millionaire! Jersey City Lotto Player Wins Big A Jersey City lotto player has $2 million reasons to celebrate. One New Jersey Lottery ticket matched five of the five white balls in the Powerball drawing on Monday, August 28, winning the $1 million grand prize. The ticket was purchased with a Power Play option, multiplying the prize to $2 million. The ticket was sold at Gary's Sweet Shoppe in Jersey City. The winning numbers for the Monday, August 28, drawing were: 04, 06, 25, 55 and 68. The Red Power Ball number was 26. The Power Play was 2X.

Heroin, Meth, Coke Seized From Duo In Hudson County: Cops Heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine were among a variety of drugs seized from two people in Hudson County last week, authorities said. Police were searching a residence on the 200 block of Front Street when they found Edgar Agramonte, a 38-year-old Union City resident, had cocaine and 15 ecstasy pills, on Friday, Aug. 25, Police Chief Dennis Miller said. Elizabeth Woman Stabbed Dead A 37-year-old Elizabeth woman was fatally stabbed over the weekend, authorities said. Lakeisha Brooks was found suffering from a stab wound around 10:40 a.m. at Broadway and Front Street on Saturday, Aug. 26, Union County prosecutors said. Man With Firearm Arrested Following Pursuit: Bayonne PD A 22-year-old Bayonne man was arrested by police after he was seen brandishing a firearm, authorities said. Pat Kramer, Longtime Paterson Mayor, Dies At 90 Lawrence Francis "Pat" Kramer, who spent almost his entire life in Paterson, the city where he served as mayor for 12 years, died on Thursday, Aug. 24. He was 90 years old. Kramer grew up on East 42nd Street and 18th Avenue, and attended what is now John F. Kennedy High School. After graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Kramer ran on the Republican ticket for mayor, and was elected in 1966.
