Citing data from Yelp, NewYorkUpstate has released its latest report of the locales that feature the most romantic settings, with Il Barilotto on Main Street in Fishkill making the list at No. 22.
According to the report, the businesses “are all in the restaurant and food categories on Yelp, and have a significant number of reviews mentioning the words ‘romantic’ or ‘date.’”
Factors that determine ranking include the number of reviews, star ranking and the number of negative (one- and two-star) reviews. The report only includes restaurants from upstate - which is considered north of Westchester and Rockland counties - in the rankings.
“This place is such a cute little gem on Main Street,” one reviewer wrote. “The food and wine are both awesome and the atmosphere is perfect if you're looking for some more ‘romantic vibes.’”
Another reviewer posted, "I've been here three times. Each time, the food and service was absolutely exquisite. Even during the time I sat at the bar. The first two times were so amazing that I picked this restaurant specifically to propose to my beautiful wife. Its romantic, intimate, wonderful ambiance is hard to beat. And a great wine list to boot!"
