East Fishkill PD Sergeant Calls It A Career After more than 12 years protecting the residents of East Fishkill, Sgt. Brian Tarpey of the East Fishkill Police Department is calling it a career.  Tarpey officially retired on Friday, Oct. 6th, after an injury prevented him from returning to duty. He served the Town of East Fishkill since December of 2005, including a temporary assignment with the Dutchess County Drug Task Force. He was promoted to sergeant in 2014.  On their Facebook page, the department wished Tarpey: "A long, healthy and happy retirement. Our Best Wishes going forward."

Cory recently helped organize the "Never Say No" 5K at Long Dock Park in Beacon, raising $2,500 for the Poughquag-based Ryan McElory Children's Cancer Foundation. 6-Year-Old Battling Brain Tumors Joins Lourdes Field Hockey Maui Lengyel is only 6 years old, but she is the newest member of the Lourdes Field Hockey program. Maui is battling non-cancerous brain tumors and is undergoing chemotherapy. She has lost permanent vision in her left eye. She joined the team Thursday. Maui's mom, Sue, is an alumnus of Lourdes and works in the health office. Maui joining the team was made possible through the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation. Maui will be invited to attend as many practices and games as she feels she can. The team gave her her own field hockey stick and jersey. “Maui has so much energy and lights up the room.…
