Donations will help pay for medical expenses for Richie Rubino and modifications to his home.

The married father was treated for his critical, life-threatening injuries at Westchester Medical Center. He spent two weeks in a trauma intensive care unit and underwent surgery. Rubino and his family were told he was paralyzed from the chest down, according to the GoFundMe page.

He is undergoing rehabilitation at Helen Hayes Hospital in Rockland County. He will return home in a wheelchair and be unable to return to his job, the release said.

To date, $4,450 has been raised toward a $10,000 goal.
