A 48-year-old man was arrested after police said he stole more than $100 worth of merchandise from a grocery store in Northern Westchester. Mount Kisco resident Dimitri Chitrekashvili, 48, was arrested following an investigation into a reported larceny at Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace in Yorktown, the Yorktown Police Department announced on Monday, July 27. Authorities allege that Chitrekashvili stole $105.42 worth of merchandise from the store before leaving without paying. Police charged Chitrekashvili with petit larceny. 5 Firefighters Hospitalized After Blaze Damages Fire Station, Equipment In Hudson Valley
An Orange County firehouse was damaged in an early morning blaze that also affected firefighting equipment. The blaze happened at the Coldenham Firehouse in Montgomery on Coldenham Road at around 3:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning, July 28, according to Orange County Emergency Services. Box Truck Slams Into Pole In Front Of Walmart In Hudson Valley, Driver Injured
A truck driver was injured after crashing into a pole in front of a Walmart in Rockland County. The crash happened on Monday afternoon, July 27, when a box truck hit a utility pole on Route 59 in front of the Walmart in Airmont, according to Ramapo Police. Firefighters used specialized equipment to rescue the driver from the wreckage, police said. The driver sustained minor injuries. Police did not say what caused the crash.
