Historic Sailboat Sinks At Dock In Westchester County
A historic, nearly 90-year-old sailboat sank at its dock in Westchester County, spilling a small amount of fuel.
The vessel, built in 1938, went down on Tuesday morning, July 28, while moored in its slip at the dock on Harbor Lane on Neptune Island, New Rochelle Fire Chief Joseph Sinatra told Daily Voice.
The sinking released an estimated 5 to 10 gallons of fuel into the water, Sinatra said.
Despite the fuel release, Sinatra said there was no visible sheen on the surrounding water, and the incident did not require notification of the New York State Department of Environmen…
