Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

One Killed In Two-Vehicle Meadowbrook State Parkway Crash One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash on the Meadowbrook State Parkway. It happened on the southbound side just before 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, in the area of Bay Parkway, in Hempstead, state police said. Frank Orticelle, 65, of Uniondale, was driving a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle when he struck the back of a 2013 Honda and was ejected from the motorcycle, according to police.  Orticelle was transported to Nassau University Medical where he succumbed to his injuries.

Alligator Turned Over To Long Island Authorities An American alligator was turned over to the Suffolk County SPCA and NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk County SPCA said the two-foot long alligator was given to the SPCA on Tuesday, July 14 because the owner, who had purchased the alligator out of state, did not have a license to own it in New York State. It happened on Saturday, July 11 just before midnight in Roslyn.
