Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Four Suspects At Large After Robbery At Long Island Hotel Four suspects are at all large after a violent robbery at a Long Island hotel. It happened on Monday, July 6 at 1:30 a.m. at the Ramada Hotel located at 1000 Sunrise Highway in Baldwin. The four entered a 27-year-old male victim’s room, punched him and held him down while they took his property, Nassau County Police said. They fled the scene in an unknown direction in a white sedan. ID Released For Woman Struck, Killed By Jeep In Fairfield Hit-Run Crash A woman in the area for the holiday weekend was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the Town of Fairfield and police are requesting the public's help in locating the vehicle and driver. Marileidy Morel Araujo, 32, of Matamoras, Pennsylvania, has been identified by police as the victim of the crash that happened around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 4 in the area of 2000 Redding Road. Skydiver Attempting 'Swoop Landing' Killed In Hudson Valley Accident, Police Say A skydiver who attempted a "swoop landing" died from injuries suffering during an accident in the Hudson Valley. It happened on Sunday, July 5 at approximately 5:40 p.m. in Ulster County. State police responded to 55 Sand Hill Road in the town of Gardiner for a report of a skydiver with injuries subsequent to a hard landing. Long Island Man Seriously Injured When Firework Explodes In Hand A Long Island man was seriously injured while lighting a firework. The incident happened Saturday, July 4 at 9:15 p.m.in Central Islip. Brandon James, 29, of Brookhaven, suffered the hand injury while lighting a firework at a home located on Tamarack Street, Suffolk County Police said. He was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Audi Passenger Fires At Least One Shot On Long Island Roadway, Police Say Police are investigating an incident in which a passenger in an Audi fire at least one shot on Long Island. It happened on Saturday, July 4 at approximately 10:05 p.m. in Elmont. According to Nassau County Police detectives, Fifth Precinct officers responded to a call for shots fired on Fourth Street. 21-Year-Old Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash Near Long Island Gas Station A 21-year-old was killed in a two-vehicle collision near a Long Island gas station. The crash happened on Sunday, July 5 at around 11:45 a.m. in Great Neck. The victim was operating a motorcycle southbound on Cuttermill Road when he got into the collision with a 2004 Infinity, which was exiting the BP gas station, Nassau County Police said. Nassau County Man Found Unresponsive In Pool At Long Island Home An investigation is underway after a man was found unresponsive in a pool on Long Island.Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct police officers responded to a Stony Brook home on Harmon Court at approximately 2 p.m. Sunday, July 5 after Anthony Leo, 78, of Freeport, was found unresponsive in a pool outside the residence. Man Accused Of Setting Fire To Long Island Hotel A man has been charged with arson after police say he set fire to a Long Island hotel. Suffolk County Police say Raymond Pond, 50, started the fire inside the Rodeway Inn in Huntington Station, located at 270 West Jericho Turnpike, at approximately 5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 4. A Suffolk County Police Selective Alcohol Fatality Enforcement (SAFE-T) officer in Selden initiated a traffic stop of a 2003 Nissan Frontier after he observed the vehicle making an illegal left turn while it was travelling eastbound on Middle County Road at 1:25 a.m. Sunday, July 5. Father, Son Killed In Hudson Valley House Fire A man who pushed his daughter to safety was killed, along with his son, after a house fire broke out overnight in the Hudson Valley.
