Metro-North Harlem and New Haven Line endured hours of delays starting at around 7 a.m. Monday due to a disabled track maintenance vehicle on the tracks in the Bronx.
Around noon, the Harlem Line started running on or close to schedule for the first time since the early morning. Good service was restored to the New Haven Line around 12:30 p.m.
Earlier, delays of 20 to 30 minutes, then 30 to 40 minutes, followed by 40-50 minutes were reported by Metro-North as a result of the incident.
For commuters not taking the train, it was a messy morning with a mix of rain, sleet and snow, prompting approximately 30 school districts in the Hudson Valley to delay their openings.
