A student has been arrested as a result of the incident that prompted the Arlington High School to be placed in a lockdown on Monday morning.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office has charged a 15-year-old male student with falsely reporting an incident. The youth has been referred to Family Court for further action.
Although it was determined that there was no imminent threat, school officials and sheriff’s deputies remained visible for the remainder of the school day to ensure the safety of all the students and staff in the building.

Arlington High School was placed on lockdown Monday morning after a 911 call was received about a possible threat at the school, said Lt. Shawn Castano of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.
The threat was received around 10 a.m. The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office school resource officer assigned to the Arlington High School immediately notified the school administration and the school’s safety plan was activated.
The high school was placed in lockdown while the school resource officer along with additional sheriff’s deputies and state troopers investigated the incident.
At approximately 11:15am, the lockdown was lifted after the threat was determined to be a prank. The school remains in a hold and place while the Sheriff’s Office and school officials continue to investigate this incident. New York State Police assisted at the scene.
All students and staff are safe, Castano said.
