The man, who requested anonymity, shared video of the sighting, which shows the moose walking through his driveway. The moose subsequently passed into a neighbor's yard.

The resident, whose home is on Hidden Hollow Lane, said he has never spotted a moose before. He woke up early in the morning after a neighbor's motion sensor went off, peered out a window and spotted the moose.

The moose was spotted shortly after 2:30 a.m. The sighting comes less than a day after multiple reports were made of a moose sighting in Bedford.

Tracks from the moose remain on the Millwood resident's property, he added.

Moose sightings are extremely rare in southern New York. There are only an estimate 800 moose in the state, with most located far upstate near the Canadian and Vermont borders. Unlike deer, moose do not form herds and are solitary animals, adding to the likelihood the same moose was spotted in both Bedford and Millwood.
