Quinten Yonkers, age 24, of New Canaan, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 24, by Darien Police. Hudson Valley Man Nabbed For Felony DWI Following Traffic Stop, Police Say A Hudson Valley man has been arrested for alleged felony driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content (BAC) more than twice the legal limit. Orange County resident Hosmar J. Garcia Giron, age 23, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 23 during a traffic stop on I-87 in the town of Cornwall. During the stop, Giron, of Newburgh, was found to be allegedly intoxicated. Man Fires Shots On Grounds Of Long Island School, Police Say Police say a man has been arrested for allegedly firing a shot from a handgun while on the grounds of a Long Island middle school. The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested at 11:45 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 26, on the grounds of Hauppauge Middle School, located at 600 Townline Road. Man Nabbed For Sexual Assault, Home Invasion In Fairfield County, Police Say Police were able to quickly nab a man wanted for the sexual assault of a 21-year-old Fairfield County woman. Beach In Westchester Closed For Swimming Due To High Bacteria Levels Beachgoers might be disappointed to find there's no swimming at one beach in Westchester due to high levels of bacteria. Village of Mamaroneck Recreation Department said that there is no swimming allowed at the Stephen E. Johnston Beach at Harbor Island Park on Friday, Aug. 27. The high bacteria levels are due to the more than five inches of rain the area received from Tropical Storm Henri. Visitors are welcome to walk or sit on the beach. Officials will continue to monitor the safety levels and post on the village's website when it's safe to swim again.

Suffolk County Police arrested Everette Aitcheson, age 22, of North Amityville, on Wednesday, Aug. 25 on weapons charges in connection with the fatal shooting of Alonte Shipp that occurred in Wyandanch on Monday, Aug. 23.
