Long Island Woman Killed After Crashing Into Utility Pole, Police Say A Long Island woman was killed after crashing into a utility pole. The incident around 8 a.m., Friday, July 30, on North Road in Greenport. Helga Bauer, 83, of Lake Ronkonkoma, was driving a 2011 Toyota Camry east on County Road 48 (North Road) when she crossed westbound traffic and left the roadway, and collided with a utility pole before coming to a stop in the westbound lane of traffic, said the Southold Police. Boyfriend Nabbed In Hudson Valley For Fatal Stabbing Of Woman A Long Island man has been apprehended in the Hudson Valley for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend to death. Wayne Chambers, age 49, of Medford, was arrested on Friday, July 30 in Orange County in connection with the Thursday, July 22 murder of 46-year-old Sandra McIntosh, in Holtsville, said Suffolk County Police. Trio Nabbed Following Shooting In Western Mass, Police Say Three Western Massachusetts men have been arrested after a shooting incident that led to the discovery of illegal guns and drugs. According to Springfield Police Department Spokesman Ryan Walsh, officers responded to a Shot Spotter activation in Hampden County on Main Street in Springfield at around 11:30 a.m.Wednesday, July 28. Woman Killed In Long Island House Fire, Police Say Click here for an updated story: ID Released For Woman Killed In Long Island House Fire A Long Island woman has been killed in a single-family house fire. The blaze broke out around 10:25 a.m., Friday, July 30 in West Islip, on Udall Road, and was reported by a 911 caller, said the Suffolk County Police. A firefighter suffered minor injuries, police said. The woman's identity has not yet been released. Police Investigating Armed Robbery Outside Of Area Business Police are searching for suspects in connection with an armed robbery outside of an area business. The incident happened in Ulster County around 4:20 a.m. on Saturday, July 24 near a New Paltz establishment at Main Street and Prospect Street. Park Ranger Driving Drunk On Job Crashes With Daughters In Vehicle, Sheriff Says A park ranger on duty in the Hudson Valley crashed a county vehicle while his two daughters were passengers, according to authorities. Dog Killed In Western Mass House Fire A family dog was killed during a house fire at a two-and-half story home in Western Massachusetts. The fire took place around 12:35 p.m., Thursday, July 29 in Berkshires County at 16 Atlantic Ave., in Pittsfield. 20-Year-Old Violently Fights Officers After Long Island Traffic Stop, Police Say A man who was being arrested for allegedly committing numerous traffic infractions while driving a 2010 Mercedes Benz on Long Island violently fought officers, injuring one. Dwayne Gordon, age 20, of Brooklyn, was arrested around 12:50 a.m., Friday, July 30, after being stopped in Lawrence for making numerous traffic infractions on the Rockaway Turnpike, said the Nassau County Police.
