Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Smoky Skies: Air Quality Health Advisory Issued For All NY Regions Due To Canadian Wildfires Millions in the United States are under air quality alerts as Canadian wildfire smoke once again spreads in parts of the Northeast and Midwest. An Air Quality Health Advisory has been issued for Monday, July 17 for all regions of New York. (See the image above.) 1 Killed, 3 Hospitalized In Crash Near Wyandanch Intersection One person was killed and three others hospitalized after a crash near a Long Island intersection. It happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, July 16 in Wyandanch. A 44-year-old Wyandanch man was driving a 2016 Honda CRV westbound on Long Island Avenue when his vehicle collided with an eastbound 2021 Toyota Camry, driven a 30-year-old Wheatley Heights woman, Suffolk County Police said. Passenger Crash Lands Plane Departing From Westchester After Pilot Suffers Medical Emergency A female passenger took the controls of a small plane that departed from New York and crash-landed on Martha's Vineyard Island after the pilot suffered a medical emergency, according to Massachusetts State Police. Update: 20-Year-Old Missing Since April ID'd After Remains Found Off Southern State Parkway Skeletal remains found off a stretch of the Southern State Parkway have been identified as a 20-year-old who has been missing since April. Isaiah Henriquez, age 20, of West Babylon had last been seen on Saturday, April 8. On Thursday, July 13 at around 7:15 a.m., New York State Police troopers responded to a call of the remains found off the parkway eastbound in the wooded area around Exit 40 in the town of Islip. 26-Year-Old Fatally Shoots His Mother At Their Deer Park Residence, Police Say A Long Island man has been apprehended after police say he shot and killed his mother at their residence. The incident happened around 9:20 p.m. Friday, July 14 in Deer Park, on the 1600 block of Deer Park Avenue. The victim, Deborah Strauch, age 64, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Suffolk County Police. Her son, Tyler Strauch, age 26, has been charged with second-degree murder. He was scheduled for arraignment Saturday, July 15 at First District Court in Central Islip.
