Javier Santos-Rivera, 41, of Allentown, was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated assault, sexual assault, simple assault, indecent assault, and intimidation of a witness or victim, Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan said.

A French tourist died after becoming stranded on a remote road in Death Valley National Park as temperatures reached 116 degrees, according to officials.
Pierre Michel Formosa, 68, died on Monday, Aug. 17, after he and a traveling companion got stuck in mud near Queen of Sheba Mine Road, the National Park Service said in a news release on Friday, Aug. 21.
Formosa and his companion, who's also from France, were traveling on West Side Road when their vehicle became stuck. With no other vehicles in the area, the men began walking across the salt flats toward Badwater Road to get help.

A 32-year-old Piscataway man was arrested and charged after a pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit and run crash in Watchung on Saturday, Aug. 22, authorities said.

A 29-year-old Somerset man was killed in a crash in Bridgewater Sunday, Aug. 23, authorities said.
At 4:12 p.m., officers responded to Finderne Avenue and Eat Main Street after an Ford F-150, driven by a 68-year-old Somerville man, attempted to make a left turn onto East Main Street and turned directly into the path of the motorcycle, Bridgewater police said.
The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the vehicle, causing the motorcyclist, who was not identified by police, to be ejected, officers said.

Zack Paleologos, a 24-year-old Jackson native, died on Thursday, Aug. 20. The cause of death was suicide, his sister, Isabella Paleologos, said on a GoFundMe set up following his passing.
Paleologos, a Marine veteran, died just 10 days prior to his 25th birthday.
