MILLBROOK, N.Y. – Mary G. Briggs, of Millbrook, died on Thursday, Jan.14, at Westchester Medical Center. She was 65.
Briggs was born on Sept. 10, 1950, to Joseph and Teresa Malloy Gill in Drumlish County, Longford, Ireland.
She worked as a certified nurses aide at the Dutchess County Infirmary, recently retiring from the Lutheran Care Center in Poughkeepsie.
She is survived by her husband, Donald, three children, Theodore II and his wife, Christine, daughter Shannon and her husband, Matthew Manning, and daughter Moire and her husband David Purcell, five grandchildren, sisters Beatrice, Anne and her husband, Sean Balfe, Bernadette and her husband, Brendon McCormack, Helen and her husband, Charlie Grimes, brother Thomas Gill and his wife Kathleen, and brother-in-law Frank McGowan.
Briggs was predeceased by a sister Teresa McGowan and mother-in-law Betty Briggs.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday, Jan. 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Allen Funeral Home, at 3270 Franklin Avenue in Millbrook.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 22, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Millbrook.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are welcomed to either the Dutchess County SPCA or St. Joseph’s Church in Millbrook.
