Palmer Man Claims $1M Prize On Scratch-Off Lottery Ticket Wayne Doyle recently won $1 million in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “50X The Money” instant ticket game. The Palmer man decided to take the lump sum and will take home $650,000 before taxes. He didn't say what he had planned for the cash.  S&S Food Mart at 1520 N. Main St. in Palmer, where Doyle purchased the ticket, will receive a $10,000 bonus.

Blackstone Man Wins $1M In State Lottery, Has Prudent Plan For The Money Robert Matthews of Blackstone walked away a millionaire (before taxes) after playing the Massachusetts State Lottery recently.  Matthews won $1 million in the $4,000,000 Brilliant Titanium” instant ticket game recently after purchasing the ticket at Raynham Park.  He elected to take the lump sum, which means he'll walk away with $650,000 after taxes, the lottery confirmed. Matthews plans to play it smart and invest his winnings.  Raynham Park, located at 1958 Broadway, will get $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.

Acton Hazmat Teams Respond After Garbage Man Nearly Faint After Inspecting Load: Officials Hazmat teams in Acton were called out to a potential hazardous materials incident after a trash truck driver nearly fainted after picking up a load on Friday, Jan. 13, officials said.  The driver said he picked up trash around 9 a.m. in the area of 100 Nagog Park Drive when he began to feel dizzy and light-headed after inspecting the truck's load, fire officials said.  The hazmat team inspected the load and determined it a Tier 1 situation, the lowest and less dangerous. They cleared the truck around 1 p.m. Paramedics took the driver to a local hospital for evaluation.

Taunton Sex Offender With Hundreds Of Child Porn Images Gets 10 Years: Feds A 60-year-old sex offender who copped to having hundreds of images of child porn on his computer will spend the next decade in prison, a judge ruled this week.  Rudy Frabizio of Taunton, who pleaded guilty to one count of child porn possession in September, was sentenced on Thursday, Jan. 12, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said. Morphine-Siphoning Nurse Gets Jail For Stealing Drug From Northborough Dementia Patients: Feds A judge sentenced a 43-year-old Northborough nurse who admitted to siphoning morphine from a dementia patient who she cared for at a nursing home will spend more than four years in prison, federal authorities said.  Gwen Rider pleaded guilty last year to one count of tampering with a consumer product and one count of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and deception, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said.
