Phony 'Active Shooter' Report Brings Presence Police To Allentown School Allentown police were dispatched to William Allen High School Thursday morning for an active shooter report that turned out to be a hoax, according to the department. Authorities said they received the phony call around 10:20 a.m., Oct. 26. Officers and Lehigh County sheriff's deputies "conducted a systematic clearing" of the building and found "no threat to the public," APD said. SEPTA Driver Shot Dead On Duty, Suspect In Custody: Authorities A SEPTA driver was shot and killed on their route Thursday morning, Oct. 26, and authorities believe they have the shooter in custody, transit authorities told Daily Voice. The victim was driving Route 23 when they were shot at the intersection of Germantown and Abbotsford avenues around 10:30 a.m., a SEPTA spokesperson said. Driver Killed In Head-On Crash With Tour Bus In Lancaster County: State Police A 25-year-old is dead after colliding with a tour bus in Leacock Township early Thursday morning, Oct.26, according to state police. It happened just before 3 a.m., authorities said. The driver was headed north on North Hollander Road near the intersection with Yost Road when they lost control of their Nissan sedan and entered the southbound lane, troopers said. The driver, who police did not identify, was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver was unharmed, they added. The crash remains under investigation.

Barricaded Suspect Found Hiding In Closet After 9-Hour Standoff: Bethlehem PD Bethlehem police arrested a wanted man following a nine-hour barricade at an 11th Avenue home on Wednesday, Oct. 25. Brian George Lichtenwalner, 31, was taken into custody on multiple bench warrants out of Monroe County, authorities said. Lichtenwalner had been sought on charges related to disarming a law enforcement officer, possessing drugs in a prison, and various DUI offenses when Bethlehem police learned he was in the city on Wednesday morning. Missing Philadelphia Senior May Be In Danger, Authorities Warn Philadelphia police are asking for the public's help in tracking down an endangered missing senior. Norman Sweeney, 77, hasn't been seen since Monday afternoon, Oct. 23, authorities said. He was last spotted along the 500 block of East Allegheny Avenue in Kensington, near Lewis Elkin Elementary School, according to PPD. Water Main Break Slows Traffic In Upper Merion Officials in Upper Merion Township responded to the scene of a broken water main Wednesday morning, Oct. 25. It happened around 8:30 a.m. near the corner of East Church Road and Yerkes Road, where traffic was shut down for crews to repair the damage, UMPD said. As of Wednesday evening, the Aqua Pennsylvania service outage map shows an emergency shutdown on Yerkes Road from East Church Road to Shoemaker Road with an unknown number of customers affected.
