Beacon Police quickly arrested a 23-year-old local man after he snatched a woman's purse, according to the Beacon Police Department.

Bobby Jones III, of Beacon, was arrested around 10 p.m. Sunday after police responded to Liberty Street for a purse snatching incident, said Det. Sgt. Jason Johnson.

Once on scene, the victim was able to describe the male suspect and responding officers located a Jones who matched the description a short time later.

A show-up was conducted and the victim positively identified Jones, Johnson said.

Jones was charged with robbery and possession of marijuana. He is being held at the Dutchess County Jail on $10,000 cash/$20,000 bond.
