DOVER, N.Y. -- A Dover man was charged with unlawful growing of cannabis after state police unintentionally stumbled upon his marijuana garden, according to New York State Police.

George Anderson, 55, of Dover, was charged after state troopers, conducting an investigation into an unrelated matter, found his marijuana plants when in a neighbor's yard. Troopers seized 14 fully grown plants, state police said.

In addition to the above charge, Anderson was charged with possession of marijuana. He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept.  29.
