Dutchess Sheriff Says Licensed Owners Should Carry Guns In Public

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Dutchess’s Adrian “Butch” Anderson has joined dozens of other county sheriffs in calling for gun owners to “exercise their Second Amendment rights,” according to a report in the Poughkeepsie Journal.

According to the Journal report, Anderson is backing Ulster County Sheriff Paul Van Blarcum’s stand on the carrying of weapons in public by licensed gun owners, as well as active and retired police officers.

Blarcum recently spurred a social media frenzy with his post reacting to the recent mass shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., according to media reports.
