The 40-something man “was seen jumping from the north walkway at the New York tower at 2:30 a.m.,” the Port Authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“His body was recovered from the outcropping below,” he said.

Investigators were trying to determine how the man got onto the north walkway, which is closed to pedestrians. No car was found, Pentangelo said.

Port Authority police were also investigating the 3:15 p.m. discovery yesterday of a Floral Park, NY woman’s body in the Hudson River.

Video shows the woman on the walkway earlier, but there’s no direct evidence yet of a jump. The incident remains under investigation, Pentangelo said.
