Pawling Man Charged With Assaulting, Injuring Trooper During Traffic Stop

PAWLING, N.Y. – A Pawling man was arrested on multiple charges Thursday after an incident in which he assaulted a state trooper during a traffic stop, according to New York State Police.

Edward C. See, Jr., 65, was stopped in the area of Summit Avenue and Willets Drive after he failed to use his turn signal. Following an interview conducted by the arresting officer, See was found to be intoxicated, police said. While attempting to place See into custody, he actively resisted arrest and caused injury to the trooper, officials say.

He was charged with assault in the second degree, DWI and resisting arrest, according to the report.

See was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where he was treated and released. He was arraigned before the Town of Pawling Court and released on his own recognizance. He is due to appear in the Village of Pawling Court Thursday, Jan. 14, according to police.
