Tyler S.J. Borzowski of Poughkeepsie was arrested Tuesday, July 3 following a month-long investigation into ongoing criminal mischief at the Mountainbook Estates apartment complex, said Capt. Kevin Faber.

Borzowski was arrested after officers responding to the complex for a report of a resident's tires being slashed, Faber said.

When officers arrived they found Borzowski near the scene and as they attempted to take him into custody he threw a wooden table and swung a large tree branch in an attempt to strike the officers and escape arrest, he added.

Officers were finally able to take him into custody without injury. The damage Borzowski caused it estimated to be $1,500, Faber said.

He was charged with three counts of felony criminal mischief, two counts of criminal mischief, felony assault and resisting arrest.

Borzowski is being held at the Dutchess County Jail on $20,000 cash/$40,000 bond.
