Officers also confiscated a Go Pro camera and a video camera on a tripod that the pair was carrying.

Yon Pomrenze, 35 (above, right), of New York, and 26-year-old Connor Fieldman Boals (left) of Brooklyn “tried to go through a manned gate into the WTC site at Vesey and Washington Street at 2:08 p.m. and were stopped by a PAPD officer at that location,” the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“Pomrenze and Boals told the officer words to the effect that that if a 16-year-old could get on the site, they should also be able to get in” — a reference to Justin Casquejo of Weehawken.

Casquejo crawled through a hole in a fence before dawn Sunday, then took an elevator to the 88th floor and walked to the 104th floor before he told police he climbed onto the Freedom Tower roof and made it up to the antenna.

Yesterday, four men surrendered to police on charges connected with a BASE jump off the building on Sept. 30 of last year. Police said they, too, squeezed through a hole in the fence and climbed 104 flights of stairs before leaping.

Today, both Pomrenze and Boals went to Vesey Street entrance to the WTC PATH station, where Boals twice tried to climb the fence and was stopped, Pentangelo said,

They then “tried to forcibly push their way through a controlled gate at Vesey and Church, at which point they were arrested,” he said.

Both were charged with criminal trespass, obstruction and disorderly conduct. They were to be processed and taken to Central Booking in Manhattan.

The NYPD has more than 200 officers, surveillance cameras and other technology guarding the perimeter of the 16-acre site, while the Port Authority handles everything inside.
