Dover Plains resident Timothy Robinson has been remanded to the Dutchess County Jail after being arrested by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force for a felony charge of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, Sgt. Vincent Stelmach said on Wednesday.
Stelmach said that Robinson and others were caught selling crack and heroin from a house in Amenia. He was arrested with two others.
Robinson had to register as a sex offender after spending several years in prison following charges that he had sexual intercourse with a teenager.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services assigned Robinson a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He is also designated for lifetime registration.
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Robinson had sexual intercourse and sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl in March 1992. He was arrested by the Nassau County Police Department's Missing Person and Sex Offender Registry Unit and sentenced to between two and four years in state prison in July that same year.
Stelmach noted that the new charges levied against Robinson are not related to the Sex Offender Registry Act.
