Stop For Car Not Having Tail Lamps Results In Cocaine Bust In Dover

A routine traffic stop for a vehicle infraction on Route 55 in Dover led to state police arresting a man and woman on felony drug charges.

Troopers from Dover Plains stopped a Nissan Maxima on Route 55 after they observed it traveling without tail lamps on Wednesday, state police said.

It was determined that the driver, 28-year-old Milford, Conn. resident Brigham Young and his passenger, Wingdale resident Bobbi Peltier, 30, were in possession of cocaine, according to police.

Both Peltier and Young were arrested and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony. They were arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $25,000 bond. They are due back in Town of Dover Court on Monday, May 8.
