Daily Voice Leaders Series: Marc Molinaro, Dutchess County Executive

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Marc Molinaro began his political career when he was only 18 years old and took office as the mayor of Tivoli just one year later. Now serving as the Dutchess County Executive at the age of 40, Molinaro doesn't believe the purpose of his job has changed all that much.

"There are a lot of people in my position as county executives across the state who like to say that their job is like being governor of a county," Molinaro told Daily Voice. "My job is like being a village mayor."

Molinaro's goal is to make sure that every citizen of the county feels as though there is a county government in place that will hear their concerns and react to the county's changing needs.

"The problem I think we have, is that to many people in office don't appreciate that Mr. and Mrs. Post, who lived in the Village of Tivoli, just want to enjoy living there."
