The budget, which was signed Friday, Dec. 14, includes numerous changes, such as the reduction of the county property tax levy for what will be the fifth consecutive year.
The budget will also include a lower property tax rate for the fourth year, from $3.54 to $3.45 for $1,000 of true value assessments. Services for veterans and seniors will be improved, as will youth program funding. The budget will also make a number of targeted investments to grow the economy and “enhance quality of life for all residents.”
“As we move into the new year, I look forward to our continued collaboration in pursuit of our many bold goals including addressing the ongoing opioid epidemic, overhauling youth services through our Path to Promise initiative, opening the new Law Enforcement Center, expanding our rail trail network, building the Justice and Transition Center, opening the new Office for the Aging facility and Public Defender’s office, and the many other initiatives that will address our community’s most pressing needs,” said Molinaro. “In the year ahead, we will continue to strive to make Dutchess County an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.”
