BEEKMAN, N.Y. -- Republican Barbara Zulauf is running for a second term as Beekman Town Supervisor against Democrat Neil Martin.
The election is on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Zulauf previously served on the town board for 10 years. She said Beekman needs more economic development in its town center and lack of growth has been due to the need for water and sewer infrastructure, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Zulauf started a committee of local businesses and residents to develop a plan to obtain infrastructure and business in the town center, according to the Journal.
Martin previously served on the Arlington School Board, Beekman Planning Board, Citizens Budget Review Committee and Ethics Board. He said the town needs experienced executive leadership to correct audit protocols and provide the experience and proven leadership to manage town financial affairs, according to the Journal.
Democrats Beth Gibson and Sean Johnston are running for two seats on the Beekman Town Board against Republicans Werner Stiegler and Michael Moran.
