From Millbrook, Abigail DeMan took home a silver metal in the Recycle ; Redesign event; Alice Pandaleon and Lucas Pfeifer earned silver metals in the Career Investigation event, and the Millbrook culinary arts team comprised of Miles Robb and Itzel Cabrera earned a bronze metal ranking.
Arlington Central School District student, student Emily Esack represented New York as a State Officer.
The meeting provided students with the opportunity to attend leadership and program training, hear national speakers, meet the National Executive Council, explore colleges and careers, and impact a city with Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.
"Having competed in a STAR Event primarily focused on children , I learned valuable lessons in personal develpoment and community involvement;” Marlboro student officer, Nicholas Mackey said. “This event demanded skills in areas such as planning an activity with a local business and forming a lesson feasible for students in preschool. This project impacted the students by allowing them to have fun while developing important skills needed for adult life,while I also grew in my communication and organizational skills."
